Social Commentator, Mr. Bernard Allotey Jacobs has expressed his disappointment in the recent performance of the Senior National team, the Ghana Black Stars.
According to him, the abysmal performance of the Black Stars was as a result of lack of teamwork amongst the players. He revealed that the Black Stars were not playing as a team, rather they were playing as group of skilful individuals.
He said, ‘’ the character of the team depicted the adage ……. Each one for himself, God for us all…..They weren’t playing as a team’’.
Mr. Allotey Jacobs also stated that the mismanagement by the EXCO members headed by the president of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Mr. Kurt Okraku, added to the woes of the Black Stars.
In a rather hilarious twist, the social commentator remarked that the GFA president and his officials should have been forced to swear an oath with Elvis Afriyie Ankrah’s Sword.
The Black Stars painfully exited the ongoing African Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament after drawing 2-2 with Mozambique. This action of the black stars sent shivers of pain and heartbreaks for many football lovers across the country.
Speaking on Peace FM’s Kokrokoo morning show, Allotey Jacobs asked for a special scrutiny into other factors contributing to the team’s shambolic performance resulting to their early exit from the tournament.
