Four students nabbed for electoral malpractice in Kyebi

The Kyebi Police is investigating a case of electoral malpractice involving four students of the Kyebi College of Education.

The students, three females and a male are alleged to be members of the Tertiary Educational Institutions Network (TEIN), a students wing of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC). They stand accused of possessing already thumb printed ballot papers.

However, one of the students in an interaction with pressmen denied the allegation explaining that she was only recruited as a polling agent for the party.

The suspect who was not allowed to mention her name by the police said, while they were waiting for the leadership of TEIN in a classroom, one of them who was selected as a polling agent but was not allowed to join the group because his name was submitted late was seen with a seal of the EC.

She said it was at that stage that a youngman, who out of suspicion raised an alarm, alerting a mob to pounce on them before handing them over to the police.

According to the Kyebi Crime Officer, Mr Emmanuel Issaka, the police had already began investigations onto the reports.
