thumbEmbattled founder and leader of International Godsway church has taken a swipe at the police for acting unprofessionally during his arrest.

Bishop Obinim described as unfortunate the manner the police handcuffed him in the full glare of the public as a common criminal when in fact he had honoured their invitation.

The man of God has been charged with assault and defrauding by false pretense of some GH¢11.6 million cedis.

He was to be arraigned before the Accra High Court Thursday on charges of assault after days of interrogation and transfers between the CID headquarters and the Nima Police but did not show up.

Bishop Obinim has since been granted bail pending police investigations.

Sharing his experience with enthusiastic church members after his release Thursday August 25, 2016, the Angel said but for the help of some inmates in both the Nima Police Station and the Central Police Station in Accra, he would have been a dead man.

He claimed some of the police officers sent him to a cell full of hardened criminals ‘just to show me where power lies’.

But to his surprised, Bishop Obinim said cell leaders offered their beds to him and ensure none of the inmates attacked him.

“The inmates who have been there for months were rather encouraging me and I know they will soon be released for being good Samaritans” he stated.

“As for the police men who treated me badly, they and their family will suffer because my father Jesus is very angry but those who were good to me will be blessed” he added.
