The Moderator of Christ Evangelical Mission (CEM), Rt.  Rev. Francis Gador, has charged Christians to be serious in spreading the Word of God.

In addition, he said, they should show that they were truly Christians in the way they dressed, talked and carried themselves.

Rt. Rev. Gador said this in a sermon at the dedication of the Accra Newtown Chapel of the church and the unveiling of the coronation inscription in honour and memory of the late Very Rev. E.N. Atiegar, the first Moderator of the church.

The occasion also formed part of the 50th anniversary celebration of the church.

He noted that the Word of God was the only hope for sustainable progress and development of any nation and people, adding that “it is the Word of God that holds all answers to all the problems of humanity”.

“The Word of God and, for that matter, the Gospel of Jesus Christ, which is the power of God onto salvation, healing and deliverance is made available to us as believers,” he said.

Rt. Rev. Gador said as the church celebrated its 50th milestone, members had a divine mandate to preach and teach the Gospel message of peace and reconciliation to all Ghanaians.

“In order to influence, impact and affect our world positively, we must keep preaching and sharing the teachings of Jesus Christ our Lord without fear.

“Let us, therefore, be motivated by the promises of our Good Lord to proclaim the Good News by telling every person who comes our way about Jesus Christ the Saviour,” he said.

The ministry, Rt. Rev. Gador said, should function as a collective unit and support the poor.

He said it was the responsibility of Christians to educate, provide good health and support for the vulnerable and champion social justice for reformation in their communities.

“We must teach people to be patriotic, love God and work hard to promote our economic well-being and live with our neighbours in peace,” he said.
