98787612The Managing Editor of the Insight newspaper, Kwesi Pratt Jnr says Ghanaians will vote according to their needs and aspirations and not per projects of the ruling government.

The ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) has been touting the number of projects they have undertaken since they assumed the seat of government. According to them, they have constructed roads, hospitals, schools and so on.

“The people canvassing for votes should know that It is not what they say that will bring the votes to them… they (electorates) will look at their needs and aspirations as well as what they are going to benefit” Kwesi Pratt said.

Contributing to a panel discussion on Radio Gold, Saturday, Mr Pratt added: “if the completion of projects were the only yardsticks for getting votes and so on, perhaps the NPP strong hold may be in the Volta Region and the NDC stronghold may be Ashanti…those who want to assist President Mahama to win elections need to do a proper assessment; otherwise, they will mislead the President and mislead themselves and the consequences can only be disastrous”

According to him, “I have followed the president for some time and I must say that there certain positives going for him; there is nobody in Ghana who can argue that the road infrastructure has not significantly improved within the last four years…there is nobody in this country who today can in all honesty argue that the water situation has not improved significantly…health infrastructure has improved significantly, educational infrastructure…

However “it is not enough to say that good things are happening but it is up to those communicating it to convince people that given all of our circumstances, this is the best that can happen. For those on the opposition side, their duty is to show that the good things that are happening today; better things can happen…and that needs to be appreciated fully”., pub-6336011652228911, DIRECT, f08c47fec0942fa0
